Hyderabad: Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Friday assured that the State Government would make fool-proof arrangements for the ensuing Ganesh festival.
Speaking to media persons after holding a meeting with representatives of Ganesh Utsav Samithi and senior officials at the State Secretariat here, the Home Minister said that elaborate arrangements were being made especially in view of only three days gap between the celebration of Bakrid and Ganesh festival. While Bakrid will be celebrated on September 2, the Ganesh immersion procession will be on September 5. He said both the festivals signify communal amity and brotherhood among people. He said that the authorities propose to complete the immersion of all Ganesh idols, including Khairtabad Ganesh, on September 5 itself.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy said nearly 35,000 police personnel of Hyderabad and Cyberabad police Commissionerates would remain deployed across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad throughout the Ganesh festival for 11 days. He said all Ganesh Mandaps would get Geo-tagging facility besides having CC cameras surveillance during procession.
The meeting was also attended by BJP MLA Raja Singh, Home Secretary Rajiv Trivedi, Principal Secretary GAD Aadhar Sinha and other senior officials.
