Has Narendra Modi Government promoted J&K or converted it into hell

Has Narendra Modi Government promoted J&K or converted it into hell

Every Indian across India that the Bureaucrats from Delhi are ruling erstwhile Jammu Kashmir's present 4 Union Territories. PM Narendra Modi and his cabinet has no time to apply their collective or individual minds to the subjects of Jammu and Kashmir  Including Ladakh that there is no factual attention paid to the grievances of the people.

When Prime Minister Narendra D Modi abrogated Article 370 the people of Kashmir were upset as it gave outsiders the right to buy land in the valley but in Ladakh, then a part of Jammu and Kashmir state, the people were overjoyed as they felt that the dominance of Kashmir over Ladakh would now be a thing of the past.

However, after Ladakh was spun off into a separate Union Territory, the euphoria over the abrogation of Article 370 did not last long. Ladakhis soon realised that they were now being ruled from New Delhi and did not have any say in the decision-making process.

They have since been protesting regularly to demand statehood and an end to direct rule by Delhi, but centralised Narendra Modi has no time to apply his non-existent democratic mind. Such people are leading the protests. Sonam Wangchuk, the celebrated engineer and educator from Ladakh came forward to be accountable to the people of the valley.

On Monday, September 30, 2024, night, Wangchuk, who led a padyatra from Ladakh to New Delhi with 200 people to press their demands, was detained by the police in the national capital that demonstrates true colour of Narendra Modi and his trusted and alleged Chnakya Amit Shah to the people of Jammu and Kashmir

That public sentiment in Ladakh clearly did not favour the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was evident in the Lok Sabha elections, when the region elected Independent candidate Haji Hanifa Jan as its MP. The BJP's Tashi Gyalson came third, after the Congress' Tsering Namgyal.

"People should have the right to decide how they want to run their state. People make hue and cry by the senseless act of detention of Songam Wangchuk in Delhi by Bharatiya Janata Party and its alleged champions in Narendra Modi's cabinet.

On Monday night Songam Wangchuk reached the Delhi border Singur through their  padyatra that began from Ladakh last month. They have travelled 25 km daily by foot and there are around 150 people with them in Pada Yatra.

Unfortunately, the Delhi police did not allow them to reach Rajghat where they were going to end their yatra on October 2, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. But it did not take place.

Their objective of coming to Delhi has a four demand agenda. Firstly, they want full statehood for Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. After Ladakh became a Union Territory post the abrogation of Article 370 there is no democracy in Ladakh. Article 35A within Article 370 used to guard Ladakh's cultural identity and its land from being encroached by outsiders. Where as Narendra Modi and Amit Shah did everything in reverse

Secondly, they are demanding the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution to be brought in for Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh and safeguard our interests.

Thirdly, in the last five years there has been no recruitment of local people in jobs which are being generated in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Therefore, they want a just and lawful demand of separate cadres to run the administrative services in Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh which must be run by the respective area's locals including  Ladakh.

The fourth demand is to have environmental safeguards for Ladakh. They were talking to the government, but this was before the general elections. Unfortunately, after elections, those talks have stopped. By the emergence of a new situation, every Indian surprised that Kashmir is mishandled, Modi thus abused India.

By the abuse of national process the tall demand of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its remote controlling Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sevak Sangh (RSS) that is promoting Hindu terrorism at the cost of the OBCs, SCs, STs and Muslim, Christian and other minorities minimised around zero in Jammu and Kashmir sensitive western region.

Their opposition to the power project that the government is planning to start in Ladakh tends to supply electricity to Haryana. This is also one of the issues they are protesting.

Jammu and Kashmir people want their respective  Autonomous Hill Development Council to get its respective power back. Narendra Modi's anti Muslim Minorities central government has snatched away all the powers of the Autonomous Hill Development Councils.

Like in case of farm laws, Narendra Modi disturbed lakhs of Jammu and Kashmir people by playing his dirty game to promote Hindu cards against majority Muslim populated States and people want to take revenge by their mandate.

These autonomous organisations had the right to decide on what needs to be done with the land of the valley and Ladakh people and it should have been run by the local people. Now, they cannot do it after Ladakh and the entire Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territories.

In the Budget session of Parliament, for instance Ladakh was given additional districts and this move was welcomed by leaders like Sonam Wangchuk. by demanding four points for Ladakh and hilly regions.

People should have the right to decide how they want to run their state. In the last five years, there has been no development in Ladakh in the rest of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of welfare amenities like Schools, Colleges and Hospitals. For every basic need they have to go to Srinagar or Chandigarh or remote places like Bengaluru or Hyderabad for medical emergencies.

Higher education is negligible in Ladakh and students have to go out of Ladakh to study. After Article 370 was abrogated the people of Ladakh welcomed it initially presuming that the hold of Srinagar would no longer be there. Then we need to think that what went wrong

It is true that 20 percent people of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir demanded Union Territory status for their respective UT including Ladakh with the retention of Article 35 of the Constitution of India and they were happy with the development, but the other 80 percent of the population of J&K including Ladakh, which is Kargil area, were against a Union Territory (UT).

And now the situation is such that those who were daydreaming that Union Territory status would bring prosperity to the people of Ladakh have realised the bitter truth that BJP put the nation including J&K in reverse gear and no such thing happened.

It is shocking to note that Ladakh has become a hollow UT. Bureaucrats from Delhi rule Ladakh and there is no attention paid to the grievances of the common people.

Now, those 20 percent of the population of Ladakh who were happy to get UT status are also opposing this move. We want something wrong with Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh's development to happen for the good of the Ladakhi people and not the bureaucrats of Delhi.

They have been struggling to get statehood for the last three years. They came to Delhi with a lot of expectations that they will get to meet senior leaders of the government, but unfortunately nothing of the sort is happening. Ladakh has the second most unemployed youth in the country as jobs are not being given to the locals of Ladakh.

These are serious issues which they want to discuss with the government, but unfortunately they are detained by the BJP and RSS controlled Delhi police.

They have been requesting that they have to go back to the table and discuss Ladakh's status with the central government. This was going on before the elections, but now that has been stopped.

They want the talks with the central government to resume. But shown his true colour. Infact Ladakh is a border region with a volatile situation with China. Does not Modi think that their protest did send the wrong signals?

They have always protested peacefully and have kept the country's interest in mind, Every Indian needs to salute them for their democratic and sovereign Indian commitment. They  have been asking for a peaceful solution for Ladakh, but there is no response from Narendra Modi's government.

The least the government can do is talk to Sonam Wangchuk and other leaders who have come to Delhi after this long padyatra.

They have always stood by the Indian Army whenever they have been called for the country's territorial issues. All that they are asking is that they be allowed to visit Jantar Mantar and Rajghat. But it did not happen in the larger interest of national integration.
