Nagarkurnool: A Swachh Pakhwada programme was conducted in Goriti and Chegunta villages under the Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP), organised by the Palem Agricultural College on Tuesday.
As part of the programme, agricultural college students and NSS volunteers undertook sanitation activities in the villages.
They visited households and created awareness among residents about cleanliness, personal hygiene, proper waste disposal and environmental protection. Public places and temple premises were also cleaned.
A kitchen garden was established on the school premises by planting various vegetable saplings.
Students were educated about kitchen gardening, the importance of nutritious food and the benefits of consuming fresh vegetables.
The organisers emphasised that cleanliness should not be limited to a one-day programme but should become a part of everyone’s daily life.
They called upon students, youth and villagers to work together to make their villages clean, green and healthy.
Agricultural College faculty members Dr. Pragathi Kumari and Dr. Bhanushree, Sarpanch Nagamma, school Headmaster Ramashekar Reddy and in-charge David Stephen participated in the programme.
