With due respect, I would like to ask you a question regarding your reported statement that most Indian Muslims are descendants of people who converted from Dalit and other backward communities.

My dear brother, on what historical evidence do you base this claim?

According to Islamic belief, Prophet Adam (AS) was the first human being. Islam teaches that humanity shares a common origin. Given this belief, I respectfully request you to clarify the historical basis for your statement about the ancestry of Indian Muslims.

Rizwan Arshad, MLA of Shivaji Nagar & Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of Karnataka sparked a political debate during an address at a Valmiki Jayanti event in late October 2026 by stating that most Indian Muslims were former Dalits.

The Claim:  Mr. Arshad asserted that a large majority of Muslims in India share common ancestry and converted generations ago from backward and Dalit (SC/ST) communities
