Director, Sainik Welfare calls on the Chief Secretary, appraise with TExSMC , other welfare issues
Hyderabad : During the meeting, Brigadier N.R. Babu brought to the notice of the Chief Secretary the need to establish the "Telangana Ex-Servicemen Corporation" to promote the welfare, employment opportunities, rehabilitation, and coordinated security services for Ex-Servicemen in the State of Telangana.
Responding positively to the proposal, the Chief Secretary, Shri Sanjay Jaju, advised that a comprehensive study be undertaken on the functioning of the Telangana Ex-Servicemen Corporations (TExSMC) in other States, including their organisational structure, operational procedures, financial model, and implementation mechanism. He suggested that a detailed report be prepared and submitted to the Government for further consideration.
Brigadier N.R. Babu also highlighted the need to convene the State Sainik Board meeting, chaired by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Telangana, at the earliest. In response, the Chief Secretary assured that necessary steps would be taken to obtain the approval of the Hon'ble Chief Minister and convene the meeting at the earliest.
During the meeting, Brigadier N.R. Babu further explained the issues being faced by Ex-Servicemen relating to house sites, housing security, and the need to earmark a specific percentage of houses under the Indiramma Housing Scheme for Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris (War Widows), and other eligible Ex-Servicemen families.
The Chief Secretary responded positively to these concerns and stated that the Government would examine the issues of Ex-Servicemen with sympathy and take all possible measures to address them.
Various other welfare, employment, housing, and administrative issues concerning Ex-Servicemen were also brought to the attention of the Chief Secretary. He assured that the concerned departments would be coordinated to ensure that appropriate action is taken and justice is extended to the Ex-Servicemen community.
The Chief Secretary further reiterated that the Government of Telangana is committed to the welfare of Ex-Servicemen and is working with sincerity, responsibility, and a positive approach to resolve their issues.
