Visakhapatnam: Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Visakhapatnam Division Lalit Bohra carried out a surprise inspection at Visakhapatnam railway station on Wednesday and inspected passenger amenities, cleanliness, and other station facilities.
After visiting waiting halls and the One Station One Product stall and reviewing facilities available for passengers, the DRM emphasised the need for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the station premises.
The DRM directed staff to provide additional dustbins to facilitate proper waste disposal.
He underlined the need for proper maintenance of twin dustbins at catering outlets to promote segregation and better waste management. Directions were given to further improve the cleanliness and upkeep of the station premises.
Upgradation and improvement of waiting hall facilities were suggested.
The DRM stressed that passenger amenities, cleanliness, and overall station upkeep must be maintained. Branch officers accompanied the Divisional Railway Manager during the inspection and reviewed various aspects of station facilities and operations.
The inspection reflects the division’s continued commitment to enhancing passenger amenities, improving cleanliness, and upgrading station facilities at Visakhapatnam.
Meanwhile, Lalit Bohra visited the New Coaching Complex at Visakhapatnam Railway Station, along with K Rama Rao, ADRM, and officers from the operating, engineering, mechanical and signal departments.
During the visit, Lalit Bohra inaugurated the newly-developed Vande Bharat building and Simhadri building at the NCC/coaching depot.
The Vande Bharat building is earmarked for administrative activities related to the operation and maintenance of Vande Bharat Express services. The building also provides secure storage facilities for high-value materials.
The newly developed facilities will provide improved, centralised, and better-organised working spaces, further strengthening the efficiency of coaching maintenance activities in Visakhapatnam.
