Mahabubnagar: Government Whip and MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy said everyone in society has a responsibility to guide students in the right direction and help shape their future.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the launch of newly appointed education volunteers under the ‘Shatashatam’ programme, organised with his own funds at the IDOC meeting hall in the District Collectorate.
He said teachers, parents, public representatives and officials must work together for the overall development of students.
Education volunteers would not be limited to academic support but would also monitor attendance, homework, behaviour, interest in studies and students’ difficulties, and share their observations with teachers.
He said modern learning methods, including 3D animations, digital learning, animated books and digital boards, were being introduced to improve conceptual understanding and students’ interest in studies.
The programme was initially implemented with 35 volunteers and yielded encouraging results. Based on its success, it has now been expanded to 100 volunteers.
District Collector Khushbu Gupta appreciated the initiative and said sustained efforts would bring meaningful changes in education. She expressed confidence that appointing women as education volunteers would further strengthen the system and make it safer
