Warangal: District Collector Kumar Deepak said the government was according top priority to education and taking several measures to secure a bright future for students.
He was speaking after the inauguration of a Centralised Community Kitchen at College Road in Mancherial on Monday.
The kitchen, established with CSR support from Singareni Collieries Company Limited and implemented by the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation, will provide hygienic and nutritious breakfast to around 42,450 students in 691 government schools and 6,654 students in 13 government junior colleges across Mancherial, Jagtial and Peddapalli districts.
The Collector said government school enrolment had increased by 7 per cent this academic year, with nearly 4,000 students shifting from private schools.
Mancherial MLA Kokkirala Prem Sagar Rao said modern facilities at the kitchen would ensure quality food for students.
Later, officials laid the foundation stone for a Pushkara Ghat on the Godavari as part of preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu-2027.
