Govt Super Specialty Hospital in Warangal nearing completion , Freedom Party President Dr Sumanth congratulates
Hanumakonda: The construction of the state-of-the-art Government Super Specialty Hospital, eagerly awaited for years by the people of North Telangana, has reached its final stage. Healthcare services that were once largely confined to Hyderabad will soon be available in Warangal itself.
Rising 24 stories into the skyline, this iconic medical facility is set to usher in a new era in Telangana's healthcare sector.
With construction nearing completion, the government is making preparations to inaugurate the hospital soon under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
The foundation stone for the project was laid on June 21, 2021, by the then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Initial estimated cost was Rs1,100 crore, but the project cost was later revised to around Rs 1,371 crore following design expansion, addition of advanced medical facilities, procurement of sophisticated equipment and construction of supporting infrastructure.
The mega hospital is being developed over 56 acres and 39 guntas, with a built-up area of approximately 19.7 lakh square feet.
The medical complex will house 35 state-of-the-art operation theatres, hundreds of ICU beds, super speciality wards, emergency care units, advanced diagnostic centres and modern laboratories equipped with the latest technology.
One of the unique features of the hospital is the helipad being constructed on the rooftop. It will facilitate emergency organ transportation, rapid evacuation of accident victims, air ambulance services and disaster response operations.
The project also includes 250 accommodation rooms for patients' attendants, 186 residential quarters for doctors and staff, a 350-seat auditorium, a central laundry, modern kitchen, dining block, mortuary and utility block, making it one of the most comprehensive government healthcare campuses in the country.
The hospital will provide advanced treatment under one roof in specialties including cardiology, neurology, nephrology, hepatology, pulmonology, oncology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, urology, plastic surgery and trauma care.
Medical expert and Freedom Party Telangana State President Dr.N.Sumanth believes this will considerably reduce the need for patients to travel to Hyderabad for advanced treatment. Dr.N.Sumanth congratulated Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Dy CM Vikramarka for their medical vision and commitment.
Once operational, the hospital will cater not only to the people of the erstwhile Warangal district but also to patients from Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Karimnagar and Peddapalli districts.
In addition, it is expected to emerge as a major referral centre for patients from the neighbouring states of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
Apart from providing world-class healthcare, the institution will also play a vital role in medical education, research and super speciality training.
It is expected to generate employment opportunities for thousands of doctors, nurses, technicians and paramedical professionals while transforming Warangal into a major medical hub.
What began as a long-cherished dream of the people of the erstwhile Warangal district is now becoming a reality.
Once opened to the public, this mega hospital will be much more than a healthcare institution—it will stand as a landmark project that strengthens the healthcare security of North Telangana and marks the beginning of a new chapter in government medical services.
