The State Governor will address the valedictory session of a state-level drug abuse awareness programme on Friday at Lok Bhavan.

A Lok Bhavan communique issued on Thursday stated that senior officials from the School Education Department, EAGLE Force, Tele-MANAS, and the Bharat Scouts and Guides will also participate.

The crucial initiative is intended to strengthen school-level vigilance and promote entirely drug-free educational environments.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Telangana State, in collaboration with the School Education Department, will conduct the event, which is expected to draw participation from around 400 Scout Masters and Guide Captains from across the state.

The day will begin with a drug abuse prevention awareness rally at 8.30 am, starting from the Bharat Scouts and Guides State Headquarters in Domalguda and culminating at Telangana Lok Bhavan.

The rally aims to send a strong public message against substance abuse while reinforcing the vision of safe, healthy, and drug-free campuses.

The main training programme will run from 10.30 am to 4 pm, featuring expert-led sessions on the impact of substance abuse, current drug trends, symptoms, early identification of vulnerable students, prevention strategies, counselling, referral mechanisms, helpline support, and rehabilitation pathways.

The sessions are designed to equip Scout Masters and Guide Captains to act effectively as first responders in schools and community settings.

Special resource inputs will be provided by Telangana EAGLE Force and Tele-MANAS, focusing on law enforcement perspectives, mental health support systems, and a coordinated institutional response.

A dedicated session by the Director of Narcotics and EAGLE Force will address the legal implications, the supreme importance of timely reporting, and the protective role of educational institutions.
