Visakhapatnam: Sainik School Korukonda conducted an inter-house drill competition. Laying emphasis on military discipline, precision and teamwork, the competition witnessed participation by cadets from all the houses in both the junior and senior sections.
The cadets were assessed on turnout, drill movements, synchronisation, command, discipline and overall military bearing, providing a demanding platform to demonstrate the standards of training inculcated at Sainik School Korukonda.
The inspection was conducted by a judging team headed by Wing Commander Kiran V, Vice-Principal, along with Subedar Ravinder Kumar, Havildar Shrawan Kumar Singh and Captain (NCC) Senthil Kumar.
In the Junior Section, Kakatiya House emerged as the Best Marching Troop, while G Goutham, House Captain of Kakatiya House, was adjudged the Best Troop Commander.
In the Senior Section, Gajapathi House was adjudged the Best Marching Troop, while Cadet Sai Lohit of Moghul House won the award for Best Troop Commander.
The competition also recognised individual standards of turnout. One Best Turned-Out Cadet from each House was awarded in recognition of their smart turnout, immaculate dress, bearing and attention to detail.
The prizes were distributed by the Principal, Group Captain SS Shastri, who attended the event as chief guest.
NCC remains an integral component of the training and educational ethos of the school.
Competitions of this nature provide cadets with practical exposure to drill, command, coordination, discipline and leadership, while also fostering healthy inter-House competition.
Cadets and training staff whose sustained efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the competition were appreciated.
