Sainik School Korukonda holds annual investiture ceremony 

Visakhapatnam: Sainik School Korukonda conducted its annual investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 with military precision and traditional fervour on Wednesday. Principal of the school Group Captain SS Shastri graced the occasion as chief guest. 

Vice Principal Wing Commander Kiran V, Administrative Officer Squadron Leader Athul John Thomas and their families along with academic faculty, administrative staff and cadets attended. The proceedings commenced with conferring rank badges upon the newly designated cadet appointments. 

Group Captain SS Shastri along with the Vice Principal and Administrative Officer, officially invested the rank badges for the school appointments of Class XII and Class XI, house appointments and class prefects. 

Following the ceremony, the vice principal administered the oath of office to the newly-appointed cadet leadership. 

The cadets pledged to discharge their duties with sincerity, impartiality and dedication to uphold the highest standards of discipline and institutional welfare. 

A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the prestigious Principal’s banners and institutional trophies for performance in the academic year 2025–26. In his address, Group Captain SS Shastri congratulated the newly-designated cadet appointments and trophy-winning houses. 

Exhorting the newly-appointed student leaders, the Principal inspired them to wear their badges of rank with pride and execute their responsibilities with unwavering commitment for the glory of the institution and the nation. 

Also, the annual school magazine, ‘Saikorian 2025-26’, was released on the occasion by Group Captain SS Shastri and Richa Shastri. Later, Class XII school appointments proceeded to the War Memorial to pay homage to fallen soldiers with traditional military honour.
