Nandyal: Directing administrative officials to maintain absolute transparency and accountability during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls, Election Observer Prashanthi emphasized completing the voter list purification strictly according to Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.
Reviewing the revision progress at the Collectorate on Wednesday alongside District Collector G Rajakumari and District Revenue Officer D Ramu Naik, the Observer praised the field-level performance of Block Level Officers (BLOs).
She instructed Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to maintain clear communication with political party representatives, particularly when removing deceased voters from the Absentee, Shifted, and Dead (ASD) list after verifying official death certificates or family declarations.
She also mandated that cases regarding no-mapping and logical errors be processed within 24 to 48 hours. The Collector reported that enumeration form distribution has achieved 100 percent completion across the district.
Notices were served to 80,283 voters—comprising 6,066 no-mapping cases and 74,217 logical discrepancy entries—with 36,382 hearings already conducted using ECI-prescribed proof documents.
She added that joint teams of EROs, AEROs, and BLOs are working in sync to ensure all eligible citizens are registered while eliminating duplicate or invalid entries.
Outlining the key schedule, the Collector stated that the deadline for receiving claims and objections is August 30, with full disposal set for completion by September 28.
The final error-free electoral roll for Nandyal district will be officially published on October 3.
She reiterated the administration’s commitment to delivering an impartial and time-bound revision process.
