Chennekothapalli (Sri Sathya Sai): Police officials presenting a trophy and cash prize to the winning team during the concluding ceremony of the inter-mandal cricket tournament at Chennekothapalli in Sri Sathya Sai district on Tuesday Sri Sathya Sai District Superintendent of Police S Satish Kumar has called upon the youth to rise above caste, religious, and political factions to play a constructive role in regional peace and nation-building.
Speaking as the chief guest at the grand valedictory function of the 15-day inter-mandal cricket tournament organized by the Ramagiri Police Circle, the SP emphasized that the window between 20 and 22 years of age is crucial in shaping a person’s future.Politics
He urged the youngsters to honor their parents’ sacrifices by focusing on academics and sports with absolute discipline. Delivering a strong social message, SP Satish Kumar issued a stern warning against substance abuse, stating that the district police would take strict legal action against drug peddling and consumption.
He also instructed the youth to treat women with dignity, explaining the heavy legal consequences under the POCSO Act for harassment or violence against minors and women.
“Our friendly policing policy is reserved for law-abiding citizens, but criminals will face an iron fist,” he asserted. The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 60 teams spanning Chennekothapalli, Ramagiri, and Kanaganapalli mandals.
At the presentation ceremony, the SP distributed trophies and cash awards. Medapuram village lifted the championship trophy alongside a Rs 40,000 cash prize. CK Palli Youth secured the runner-up position with Rs 30,000, while Thumucherla and the Ramagiri Circle Police team took home the third and fourth prizes respectively.
