Anantapur to observe Fire Service Week from April 14

Anantapur: Joint Collector C. Vishnucharan has announced that Fire Service Week will be observed across the district from April 14 to 20 to promote awareness on fire safety and prevention measures.

The Joint Collector unveiled posters and brochures related to the observance at the Revenue Building in the Anantapur Collectorate on Monday.

The programme is being conducted under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department with the theme, “Safe Schools, Safe Hospitals, and a Fire-Aware Society Working Together to Prevent Fires.”

Speaking on the occasion, Vishnucharan emphasized the need to educate the public on fire prevention practices during the week-long campaign.

He stated that awareness programmes should cover safety precautions in households and kitchens, as well as in schools, hostels, shopping complexes, warehouses, temporary structures, rural areas, and industrial units.

He also stressed the importance of informing citizens about their role during fire emergencies and the precautions to be taken at petrol stations and gas storage facilities. Officials were directed to ensure widespread dissemination of safety guidelines to minimize fire-related risks.

District Revenue Officer A. Malola, District Fire Officer Srinivasa Reddy, Special Deputy Collectors, and officials from various departments participated in the programme.
