Polarisation of Hindu votes, deletion of 90 lakh votes, EVMs manipulation made BJP win Bengal, Assam Elections : Analyst
Kolkata : Polarisation of Hindu votes and manipulations in voters lists made BJP win Assam and West Bengal elections, said "Bharat Bachao Movement" political adviser MA Mujeeb.
Despite TMC delivered its previous elections mandate, and there was one percent of anti establishment vote in West Bengal and 40 percent anti establishment vote in Assam besides Election Commission colluding with the BJP in removing the enmass Musllims votes helped BJP to win in both States, Mujeeb a postgraduate in political science and public administration added.
There was "misrule" in Assam. Dividing of Muslim majority in West Bengal and Assam assembly constituencies created Hindu - Minorities climate of fear among Muslim and Christians he added.
The followers among Hindus allege that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's charisma and the organisational abilities of Amit Shah did not work but factual fallout has been the manipulation of the EVMs and criminal backbround of both of them. It is wrong contention that the RSS brought the BJP into power in West Bengal, and Assam according to India's pollster MA Mujeeb.
Mujeeb runs "Bharat Bachao Movement (Protect India Campaign) said that a consolidation of Hindu votes played vital role coupled with division of Muslim vote through pre election of alleged proposal of construction of Another Babri Masjid in West Bengal however helped in the ouster of Mamata Banerjee's TMC in West Bengal and Sarma's ant Muslim drama did difference in Assam.
He said the marginal Indian voter from the poorest village to the wealthiest cities became the members of Whatsapp university in promoting Jai Sriram and AIMIM and AJUP insatantly worked for Hindu Muslim divide. A majority of voters did not believe BJP pre- poll promises, freebies or their being pro Hindu religion. Good governance is not the subject matter in Assam, rather than Hindu religious polarisation helped the BJP establish its dominance, Mujeeb asserted.
Hindu and Muslim issues looked like division of another India, determining victory or losses based and Hindu 85 percent Minorities 15 percent. When you attribute BJP's win to Hindu vote consolidation, the good governance and local issues and their development matters. Once the parties rely upon the respective Gods inspite there was no good work done in TNC and BJP ruled West Bengal and Assam Mujeeb said.
Specifically on Bengal, he said the TMC had created a climate of fear which, he said, was evident when his surveyors talked to respondents after the first round of voting on April 23.
They refused to talk to the surveyors which was a clear indication that they had not moved away from the TMC and and missing of over 0ne crore of votes of TMC, no voter believed Modi mania or cherisma.
In fact people started hating the criminals' history of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah who earned the masters of manipulators names and the north east intellectuals societies believed .
"Puja se zyada mahatva pait ka hai, aur pait se bada mahatva jaan ka hai (For people, food in the stomach is more important than worship. And even more important than food in the stomach is life)," Mujeeb said in an interview with Indian White Paper (IWP) spanning a range of subjects from the recent results of assembly polls to the polarisation and evolving mind of the Indian voter.
While post poll exit polls having access to EVMs manipulations accurately predicted the results in TamilNadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry, but no exit polls predicted resulted in favour of BJP in West Bengal, he cited, Exceptionally high turnover of voters more than 70 per cent at the hustings was never a shock, Mujeeb said. He claimed that the BJP's massive abuse the central policing to intimidate the West Bengal and Assam voters, and in some instances there were even frivolous arrest of the contesting candidates, and that threatened voters by the State during the peak dates of elections.
Even during this election in Bengal, six of our people were arrested and the IWP staff had to secure their bail if the media people were harassed by policing, what was the condition of the commoner, questioned Mujeeb. Others were released only after the police took their personal bounds, he said, adding that the central reserve police force played villains across West Bengal and Assam to threaten the voters to restrain them from going to polling booths.
In Tamil Nadu Exit Poll prediction - which stood out because most agencies projected the DMK's return - was essentially an outcome of its year-long presence on the ground while Tamil Nadu hated the BJP and brought in Jana Nayaka. Mujeeb said that while he had no doubt in his mind that C Joseph Vijay had emerged as a frontrunner, he worried about getting the seat share right.
In Tamil Nadu "TVK's vote share was around 25 per cent around six months before the polls. It rose to 28 per cent three months ago, then to about 30 per cent about a month ago. And by the polling day, it had risen to 35 per cent. Vijay could win the confidence of the people of Tamil Nadu he said, underlining that Vijay's appeal as a star, particularly his political films, understandably propelled his rise.
More importantly, Mujeeb said Vijay successfully converted his brand equity into a credible political alternative in the minds of voters looking for options beyond the two Moolavasi Dravidian majors DMK and AIADMK.
