Ayurvedic hospital reopens in in Suryapet

Mellacheruvu (Suryapet): An Ayurvedic hospital that had remained closed in Melacheruvu mandal of Huzurnagar constituency in Suryapet was reopened on Saturday by Sarpanch Bacchu Padma Srinivas Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, she recalled that the hospital, one of the oldest in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, was established in 1967 in Melacheruvu and had served the people for nearly five decades.

“However, due to the lack of staff appointments from the government, the hospital was eventually shut down,” she said.

She stated that, in response to requests from local residents—especially considering the aspirations of the youth—several discussions were held with higher officials. As a result, a doctor along with the necessary staff has now been appointed.

With this development, essential medicines are now available for patients. She also explained that the hospital building and furniture had deteriorated due to prolonged disuse, but they have now been fully repaired and restored for use.

She expressed happiness that, with the reopening, Ayurvedic medical services are once again accessible to the people of Melacheruvu and nearby villages.
