FM launches VB-G RAM G scheme in Aravakuru

Anantapur: Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav on Thursday formally launched the district-level rollout of the Central government’s revamped rural employment initiative, the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G), at Aravakuru village in Kuderu mandal of Uravakonda constituency.

The nation-wide scheme, which rolled out on July 1, replaces the earlier rural employment framework.

To mark the inauguration, the Minister joined local laborers at a worksite near the village tank bund and participated in manual canal desilting work to encourage the beneficiaries.

During the visit, Keshav interacted with the wage seekers to enquire about their daily earnings, the availability of working days, and the efficiency of the direct wage payment system.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stated that the VB-G RAM G scheme aims to strengthen the rural economy by providing guaranteed employment for up to 125 days a year with enhanced wage support.

He assured that the Central government has established robust measures to ensure wages are directly credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts in a timely manner.

Keshav emphasized that village development plans under the scheme will be drafted directly through Gram Sabhas, allowing local communities to prioritize their own developmental works. He urged eligible rural households to make full use of the expanded livelihood opportunities.

District Water Management Agency (DWMA) Project Director Saleem Basha, Assistant Project Director Chennakesavulu, MPDO Kullayi Swamy, and local public representatives were present.
